Kanjirapuzha Reservoir

         Taken from the dam located in Kanjirapuzha, Palakkad, Kerala, India. This dam is situated in a village called Kanjirapuzha in Palakkad District.
         Kanjirapuzha Dam is situated about 40 kilometres from Palakkad. From Palakkad, you will have to travel towards Kozhikode(Calicut) and take a right turn at Chirakkalpady. An evergreen forest named  as Vettilachola is situated near the reservoir. It is surrounded by hills. During rainy season, the mountain will be covered with mist. All this makes the area extremely beautiful and picturesque. There are three islands in the reservoir with plenty of fish grown by the Fisheries Department. There is also a beautiful garden associated with the reservoir, which is a favorite spot for the locals and tourists as well. The Kanjirapuzha river, which is a major tributary of the Thootha river is the major impound of the reservoir. The main purpose of the dam is to serve the irrigation needs of the area.

Directions
From Palakkad:
Travel towards Kozhikode(Calicut) through NH213
Take a right turn at Chirakkalpady and 8 kilometres
